ASACP Headed to QWEBEC Expo

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its return to the annual QWEBEC Expo, slated for Aug. 3-6 at the Novotel Montreal Hotel.

An industry trade show and technical conference serving existing and prospective online adult entertainment professionals, QWEBEC Expo is an annual event that acts as an international crossroads for U.S., Canadian and European members of the adult industry, gathering together to network and to learn about the market’s latest technologies, trends, products and services.

ASACP has participated in Montreal’s annual QWEBEC Expo since its inception — delivering a message of proactive corporate self-regulation to this top international group of adult entertainment professionals, the association reports.

QWEBEC Expo is providing ASACP complimentary admission to the event, plus an ad in the event’s show guide, a booth on the show floor where informational materials will be available and a table at the Meet Market networking event.

“QWEBEC Expo is honored to support ASACP and RTA again this year by giving them as much exposure as possible,” event organizer Michael Plante stated. “Tim and his team are doing a tremendous job of helping mainstream audiences understand that the legitimate adult industry community has no links to CP, and is fighting this heinous crime against children.”

ASACP’s Executive Director, Tim Henning, will attend the event as part of the association’s commitment to international outreach.

“ASACP uses events such as the QWEBEC Expo to help educate relevant businesses about the need to protect children online, and how free ASACP services such as the Restricted To Adults (RTA) website meta-label, Best Practices and Code of Ethics, help in this endeavor,” Henning said. “Attracting a global audience of professionals that includes representatives of many Canadian companies, the annual QWEBEC Expo is an important event for ASACP and its international outreach efforts.”

On Friday, Aug. 4, from 4-5 p.m., Henning will moderate a timely workshop entitled “Current Child Protection Issues & Age Verification” in Toscanne Hall, which will address issues of new legislation, age verification, adult content blocking legislation and more, with a look at strategies and tools to help ensure minors stay far away from adult entertainment.

Joining Henning will be AgeChecked CEO Alastair Graham along with ICM Registry CEO Stephen Winyard.

“Reaching a global audience of adult entertainment companies and frontline operators, the association is able to make a tangible difference in the fight for online child safety,” Henning concluded. “Through the support of our Sponsors, Members, and contributors, ASACP is able to carry its message forward, and being at QWEBEC Expo is one way that we succeed in this vital task.”
