Intimate Earth to Appear on HBO's 'Insecure'

ONTARIO, Canada — Sensual body care products from Intimate Earth will appear in an episode of the upcoming second season of HBO’s “Insecure.”

According to the company, a set designer for the show reached out to the company requesting products and a representative to be on hand for a daylong shoot.

“Created by the brilliantly talented director/actress Issa Rae, ‘Insecure’ is a comedy-drama that follows the lives of two best friends who constantly find themselves in complex and awkward circumstances,” Intimate Earth’s Desiree Hoskin, who attended the “Insecure” shoot, said. “We are proud to be a part of a series that hilariously exudes authenticity and L.A. charm.

“Even though I was going to be on set as an extra, I knew that I was also there for work,” Hoskin said. “This included making sure the Intimate Earth products were set up properly, and of course, in full view of the cameras. I was simply in the best of both worlds in the sense that I was there as a representative for Intimate Earth, and also as an extra for HBO. Without giving too many details (no spoilers allowed here), I will say that the set looked amazing, and it greatly surpassed my expectations. At one point, I was escorted back on set for the private rehearsal, and one of the main actresses (Yvonne Orji who plays Molly) even approached me asking about our unique products! While it was a brief interaction, it was one that I’ll never forget.”

The new season of “Insecure” starts July 23, with the episode in which Intimate Earth appears slated to air four weeks after that.

“As you know as soon as an adult product (think ‘the rabbit’ in ‘Sex and the City’) is featured on a hit show (or really any show for that matter), people go to stores asking for the product,” Hoskin said.
