TS Aubrey Kate Wins Big at TEAs, Taps Kristel Penn's Ikigai

LOS ANGELES — After signing with Kristel Penn’s new Ikigai Marketing and PR agency, 2017 XBIZ Trans Performer of the Year Aubrey Kate was named the 2017 TEA Best Hardcore Performer.

“I was so stressed out at the show that I couldn’t think about anything,” Kate said. “When they announced my name for Best Hardcore Performer, I was in shock. It only started to settle in while I was on stage. I feel like I accomplished a milestone. I didn’t expect to win at all three award shows. I don’t know if there are other trans performers who have already done the same — but I know this was a big marking point for my career.”

During her speech, Kate thanked her new publicist Kristel Penn.

“Kristel’s career in the industry speaks for itself, and she’s been a longtime advocate for trans performers,” she continued. “I’ve gone to her for advice in the past, and I know she looks out for many of us performers. I knew that signing with her was the next step I wanted to take to further my career.”

Penn added, “Aubrey and I have known each other for almost the entire duration of her career, and we’ve always worked well together. Funny enough, she actually approached me a couple of months ago about wanting to work together, without knowing yet that I was in the process of setting everything up for Ikigai Marketing and PR. The timing of her request was nothing short of being kismet, so it ended up being kind of perfect that she’s my first official client.”

Other projects affiliated with Kate were recognized at the event, such as Best DVD winner “Real Fucking Girls” and Best Scene winner, “Phoenix Marie’s TS Threesome.”
