SAN FRANCISCO — NakedSword has announced the debut of the classic Chuck Holmes documentary, "Seed Money," which has now been added to their library of gay adult titles for the month of February.
"Seed Money" is the story of Chuck Holmes, the founder of Falcon Studios, and a staunch gay rights advocate and philanthropist. Holmes' Falcon Studios helped shape gay identity for many while he became a major contributor, donating millions, to gay advocacy groups like the Human Rights Campaign. The film follows Holmes’s life, from the founding of the gay porn industry in the early 70s, to his indelible impact on gay culture.
The film features adult industry luminaries including Steven Scarborough, John Rutherford, Chi Chi LaRue, Terry LeGrand, Phil St. John and David Forest. Adult Stars Jeff Stryker, Jim Bentley and Tom Chase also make appearances, as does John Waters. The film was six years in the making by acclaimed documentary filmmaker Mike Stabile.
"Seed Money" first screened at 50 film festivals worldwide, frequently to sold out houses. The film was named one of the 10 Best LGBT Docs of 2015 by both Out Magazine and the Advocate, and has been featured in the LA Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Village Voice and Film International.
