Jesse (Jane) to Retire From Adult

LAS VEGAS — Jesse (a.k.a. Jesse Jane) announced she is retiring from adult filmmaking, during an interview with Tim McKernan, Doug Vaughn and Jim Hayes on The Morning After radio show, 590 AM The Fan.

The 2011 XBIZ Awards host has earned several trophies during her career, including 2016 XBIZ Performer Showcase of the Year for "Jesse: Alpha Female" (Jules Jordan Video), which won Best Sex Scene — Gonzo Release for her pairing with Manuel Ferrara. She also earned 2017 XBIZ Award nominations in the Performer Showcase of the Year category for "Jesse: Sex Machine 2" (Jules Jordan Video) and Best Sex Scene — Gonzo Release category for her scene with Mick Blue in "Face of an Angel... Mind of a Devil" (Jules Jordan Video).

The starlet's popularity extends well beyond adult as well, netting her mainstream appearances ranging from Drowning Pool's album "Desensitized" to HBO's "Entourage." In March 2011, Jesse launched her "Diosa" tequila line and in a recent interview with Ask Men, announced her teeth whitening company Sexy Smile Kit.

Jesse attributed her departure to the uncertainty of an ever-evolving adult industry landscape, her desire to end such a storied career on a high note and her ambitions to pursue other business opportunities. “I can still shoot," she said. "I have companies trying to sign me for contracts right now. Luckily, knock on wood, I age very well. But I’ve done it for 15 years. It’s time to focus on my other businesses and stuff.

"Plus, like I said, the industry’s changed so much," Jesse underscored, noting how the shifting power dynamics caused by tube sites, entrepreneurial insurgents and a fading establishment class can sometimes disfavor certain performers. "It’s not like what it used to be.” She further lamented her pay rates and how she believes "the quality of talent's gone down," while pointing out she has difficulty faking sexual attraction on film.

Despite her critiques of the biz, Jesse does not regret the past 15 years in the slightest. “I had the best time of my life,” Jesse said. “I’m never going to knock porn. I love porn. It’s been awesome. I met the coolest people. I had the best time. But it’s just time to move on."

Jesse starred in approximately 130 titles, according to IAFD.com.
