Kayla Wingert Named CSPH Executive Director

PAWTUCKET, R.I. — The board of directors for the Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health (CSPH) has announced that Kayla Wingert has been appointed executive director.

“Wingert has been transitioning into this role since Sept. 2016, and the board is confident that she will move the organization forward and work in service of its mission, values, and strategic priorities,” a CSPH spokesperson said.

Wingert, a graduate of Johnson and Wales University, joined CSPH as an intern in 2013 and went on to become event and outreach coordinator and later, development director. She has also worked on campus at Johnson and Wales University’s Gender Equity Center.

"I transition into the role of executive director overwhelmed with gratitude, and with renewed and enthusiastic commitment to supporting an organization whose mission in which I believe so passionately,” Wingert said.

Kira Manser, who has been CSPH’s interim executive director since Aug. 2015, will become clinical director and guide the organization in the implementation of its growing therapy program.

"I want to thank the board for the faith they have put in me as well as Kira Manser for her tireless work, which I look forward to building upon in continuing to advance the CSPH's mission of providing culturally inclusive, medically accurate and pleasure-informed sexuality education,” Wingert said. “I have every confidence our therapy program will continue to blossom in her very capable hands."

Founded in Feb. 2010, the CSPH is an educational organization that works to reduce sexual shame, elevate comprehensive sex education and support the growth of the sexuality field.
