Sexpo Announces 2017 Australian Dates

MELBOURNE — Sexpo has announced the dates for its 2017 Australian conventions, which will include May 5-7 in Perth and Aug. 4-6 in Brisbane. Both events will feature the theme “Feel the Future,” previously used at Sexpo’s Melbourne expo from Nov. 24-27.

“The future theme generates a genuine curiosity in people,” said Sexpo Event Manager Bentleigh Gibson. “We love seeing where we are now, and where we might be in 10 or 20 years time.”

Sexpo’s Perth and Brisbane expos will feature gaming, robotics, sex tech and virtual reality. All attendees will receive a free VR headset upon arrival, and an event called The DroneX Arena will include drone flying, drone retailers and amateur drone racing.

Sexpo was founded in Australia in 1996, and its first South African event was held in 2007. Sexpo’s first U.K. event was took place in London in 2015.

“In spite of its catchy name, Sexpo is not just an exhibition about sex,” Sexpo said. “It is about health, sexuality and adult lifestyles. Exhibitor stands include but are not limited to aviation, wine tasting, marine sports, electronic home entertainment systems, holiday resorts, spa pools, hair and make-up artists, physical fitness equipment, chiropractors, photographers and more. And of course, the event still promotes the kind of products and services that one would expect to find at an exhibition called Sexpo.”

Sexpo said, “We specifically invite people who have never been to Sexpo, thinking it is just a big sex show, to come along and be pleasantly surprised by the fun and relaxed atmosphere.”
