APAC Opens Elections for New Board of Directors

LOS ANGELES — The Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC) has announced that elections for the 2016-17 Board of Directors are now officially open.

The voting begins today, Monday, August 8, and concludes on August 21, 2016.

“This is an exciting opportunity for APAC members,” says President Chanel Preston. “Our organization was founded on the idea of ‘performer choice,’ and I want performers to feel empowered to choose the candidates they feel most qualified to represent them in regard to issues of adult performer health, safety, and community.”

“Member participation in this election will ensure the livelihood and longevity of our unique and vital organization,” Preston adds.

This year’s election will be held online, where members can cast their vote here for positions that include President, Vice President, Secretary, Chairperson and Treasurer.

While membership is required to vote, current and former performers wishing to become APAC members can do so in time to vote, with the new board set to be announced in late August, with incoming board members taking office in September.

According to the committee, APAC actively advocates to maintain and improve safety and working conditions in the adult film industry by giving adult performers organized representation in matters that affect their health, safety and community.

The organization holds meetings for its members on an every-other-month basis.
