Video: Doc Johnson Goes Viral With BuzzFeed Video

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Doc Johnson has announced that its behind-the-scenes profile showcasing the adult novelty manufacturer, entitled, “How Sex Toys Are Made,” has gone viral since its July 20 release.

The BuzzFeed.com-produced video depicts the daily workings of Doc Johnson, and features various interviews with company team members, giving viewers a an inside look at what it takes to run the largest sex toy manufacturing company in America.

The video has so far amassed more than 3 million views, with more than nineteen thousand comments and multiple thousands of ‘shares’ on BuzzFeed’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

According to Doc Johnson COO Chad Braverman, the company has always been extremely committed to American manufacturing.

“We think this BuzzFeed profile has done a fantastic job of showing our customers and fans all the work that goes into the products we make here,” Braverman says, noting that 75 percent of the firm’s goods are made in the U.S., calling it “a feat that becomes more challenging every year.”

“The BuzzFeed video beautifully showcases the process behind the development of our products,” Braverman adds, “from the first set of hands in the factory, to the last set of hands, the consumers.”

Doc Johnson’s VP of Sales and Marketing Scott Watkins believes that BuzzFeed’s diverse readership has shown an overwhelmingly positive response in the short time since the video went live in late July.

“The site’s viral nature allows the story to spread to many untapped platforms that do not typically offer consumers a peek into the adult industry,” Watkins says. “This is excellent exposure for Doc Johnson.”
