LOS ANGELES — XBIZ Award-winning director Will Ryder has unveiled "Not Traci Lords XXX," in which a cast of 20 adult stars portray legendary porn icons of the 1980s.
The film is equal parts parody spoof and historical biopic, with lead actress Lucy Tyler portraying Traci Lords — the starlet notorious for sending shockwaves throughout the adult industry when it was discovered she shot her first scenes while only 15 years old.
Joined by a massive cast including Carter Cruise, Zoey Monroe and Tom Byron, the movie visits porn's early days, when it was illegal to shoot in L.A. during the industry's most combustible decade.
"This was the greatest era for classic porn and a difficult era of creation and these girls are still superstars in the eyes of longtime porn fans," Will Ryder told XBIZ.
"These girls will never be forgotten," added co-producer Scott David of X-Play.
In the film, a young Traci Lords "sucks and fucks her way to stardom" with recreated version of Ginger Lynn, Amber Lynn, Christy Canyon, Bunny Bleu, Nina Hartley and John Holmes. Produced by Scott David and Jeff Mullen for X-Play and distributed by Pulse, the DVD will be out in September.

"History, especially in the porn industry, is often something overlooked especially by the new girls that continue to pour into the movies and we thought it would be fun to pay homage in a delicious spoof to many of the ladies and men that paved the way," Ryder added. "This is a fun history lesson that you can jerk off to. I'm a huge fan of Ginger Lynn, Amber Lynn, Traci Lords, Christy Canyon, Nina Hartley, Ron Jeremy and the others."
There is a connection between these legends and Ryder, who before becoming a director wrote the music scores for dozens of 80s porn movies that starred these actual girls and guys.
"Amber Lynn was one of the first girls that I met way back in the early 80s when I was lucky enough to get my start working on music for legendary porn directors," Ryder said. "I feel a real connection to these girls and iconic men and I wanted to bridge the past to the present in a way we do best. This is a lot of fun plus you just might learn something, right before you cum that is."
Filled with informative behind-the-scenes footage, the movie is more than two hours long and is perhaps Ryder's final feature movie parody.
"Time to mix things up," he remarked as he headed into a post production session.
