CARSON CITY, Nev. — The popularity of cinematic superheroes and mainstream media infatuation with the cosplay subculture has reportedly caused a spike in demand for superhero-themed sex role play at Dennis Hof’s Moonlite Bunny Ranch, as well as at his other legal Nevada brothels.
According to Hof, the owner of seven brothels throughout Nevada, over the last five years the number of sex parties with a Marvel or DC superhero theme has tripled, due to the enormous popularity of movies such as “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” and numerous other titles that comprise the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“The requests for superhero sex parties started to really increase during the summer of 2012, shortly after the release of the first ‘Avengers’ film,” Hof says. “Now my girls and their clients have practically turned the Bunny Ranch into a crime-fighting headquarters bent on saving the world from chastity.”
“It seems like nearly every day I see yet another bunny dressed as Wonder Woman walking her lassoed, half-naked super villain down the hallway, ready to take him to her room for ‘questioning,’” Hof adds.
As for the most popular superhero sex parties, sex worker Jenny Jade offers some insights, noting that they run the gamut of comic book scenarios, with both courtesans and customers often costumed.
“The most fun I ever had was a threesome role-play in which Captain America, portrayed by the client, walked in on a make out session between me and a fellow prostitute dressed as Scarlet Witch and Black Widow,” Jade says. “The Star Spangled Avenger was shocked at first, but we eventually convinced him to shed his Boy Scout persona and join in.”
Kitti Minx, a courtesan at Hof’s Love Ranch near Las Vegas, says that the adoration for these superhero franchises is shared by both clients and sex workers at the brothels.
“Many of us are proud geek girls and cosplayers,” Minx said. “Participating in these comic book fantasies is as exciting for us as it is for our clients, especially if it’s a character we enjoy playing.”
Minx says her current favorite sexual cosplay is one where she portrays the wisecracking antihero Deadpool, the titular character of one of this year’s biggest cinematic hits.
“He’s the naughtiest and kinkiest of all the Marvel heroes,” Kitti says of Deadpool. “I have a full-body, skin-tight Deadpool costume and all of the accessories required for the full Deadpool sextravaganza, including an exhaustive collection of BDSM paraphernalia, and a stuffed unicorn.”
This evolution of the real-world brothel experience mirrors the evolution of online adult entertainment, where generic encounters and content consumption are facing competition from niche service providers that specialize in their customers’ individual fantasies — a competitive advantage built on giving the customer exactly what he wants.
