Erotic Heritage Museum Hosting Pre-Party For Las Vegas' Naked Bike Ride

LAS VEGAS — Harry Mohney's Erotic Heritage Museum will serve as the staging location for Las Vegas' first Naked Bike Ride.

This Fri., Jun. 10, a pre-party for the Naked Bike Ride will begin at the Erotic Heritage Museum around 6 p.m. The pre-party will feature free food, non-alcoholic beverages, vendors, bike mechanics, tabling and a live D.J., and the bike ride itself will begin around 8 p.m.

Dr. Victoria R. Hartmann, director of the Erotic Heritage Museum, said, "We wish to give people a safe space in which to gather and share ideas on how to overcome injustices, share in the positive feelings of expressing their sexuality, and provide a safe spot on our private property for cyclists and others to come and discuss institutionalized indecency laws in a public forum."

The Erotic Heritage Museum said that because total nudity in public is illegal in Las Vegas, the organizers of the World Naked Bike Ride "recommend their attendees/riders obey the laws of Clark County by wearing pasties and G-strings."

"Most Las Vegans are unaware that it is against the law to appear naked in Clark County," Hartmann said. "Public nudity is illegal here, even in our hyper-sexual city. You can be arrested, potentially thrown in jail, even placed on the sex offenders list for something as simple as being seen naked walking by your window in your own home."

According to the Erotic Heritage Museum, "The World Naked Bike Ride, as well as the 24,000-square foot Erotic Heritage Museum, share many of the same interests: fighting body-shaming, bolstering positive sexual exploration and education, bringing communities together, and working for a greener world."

The Erotic Heritage Museum is located at 3275 Sammy Davis Jr. Dr.
