TRPWL.com's Sean Tompkins Acquires LukeIsBack.com

TRPWL.com's Sean Tompkins Acquires LukeIsBack.com

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — LukeIsBack.com, the once-venerable porn biz gossip site, has been sold to Sean Tompkins, the owner of TRPWL.com.

"Buying the site was something that I had wanted to do for a while,” Thompkins said. “It is part of porn history, and over the years has fallen on hard times content-wise."

Tompkins’ TRPWL began in 2011, providing adult entertainment news. LukeIsBack, started up by Los Angeles blogger Luke Ford in 2004, was once considered a top source for industry news and gossip.

Ford created the site after he sold adult news site LukeFord.com in 2001 and returned to reporting on the porn biz after a hiatus. LukeFord.com, which started up in 1997, became go-to adult blogsite after he reported an HIV outbreak among adult performers in 1998.

Ford made a similar impact on mainstream politics on his LukeFord.net site, which he still operates.

Tompkins, who didn't reveal terms of the acquisition, said that TRPWL and LukeIsBack will share stories going forward.

“LukeIsBack will deal more with gossip, Twitter beefs and showcasing talent," he said.

He’ll also make some alterations to the website itself.

“When the site changed owners a few years back, the very popular comment section was closed and commenters were deleted,” he said. “One of the first things I did was unblock everyone."
