#SexTalkTuesday Receives XBIZ Awards Nomination

LOS ANGELES — #SexTalkTuesday has become the first Twitter chat to receive an XBIZ Awards nomination. The chat was nominated for Marketing Campaign of the Year.

“It’s gratifying to see our Twitter chat receive accolades, because more than just a pat on the back it demonstrates the acceptance of new media and demonstrates the fact that direct engagement with consumers has become an award worthy way to reach your target audience” said social media strategist Lauren MacEwen of 7Veils.com, the director of #SexTalkTuesday.

“Twitter isn’t just a place for bots and drip feeds of meaningless marketing attempts, it is a vibrant platform that can be used to establish or enhance pretty much any brand if done right.”

#SexTalkTuesday is run by the operators of Sssh.com, and has its own standalone website located at SexTalkTuesday.com, Sssh.com CEO Angie Rowntree said.

The campaign is about more than profitability, as commercial success and societal evolution become two components of a powerful marketing formula, Rowntree said.

“With #SexTalkTuesday we are actually growing the pie rather than just seeking to increase the size of our slice,” Rowntree said. “So many marketing tactics these days are designed to bring customers to a brand from another brand. We see that as a very shortsighted strategy. Instead we hope to have an impact on the way sexuality is discussed, explored and shared among open-minded people.

“Even more importantly, we believe intelligent dialogue is the best way to open the minds of more people, and to demonstrate with deeds and words that we are promoting a truly sex positive experience. When consumers feel safe, cared about and appreciated, they become more than customers – they become agents of change for the better. Come join us every Tuesday and be part of growing this movement in the right direction.”

#SexTalkTuesday is hosted on Twitter on Tuesdays at 3 p.m. (EST) and features a long list of guests   To become part of the action or learn more about the unique advertising opportunities available, contact Lauren at 7Veils.com.
