Casey Calvert Reveals Why She Chose Porn in New Book by Jiz Lee

LOS ANGELES — Adult performer Casey Calvert shares her personal story about her decision to join the porn business in an essay entitled “Shark’s Teeth,” which is featured in “Coming Out Like a Porn Star,” the new book by adult industry veteran Jiz Lee.

The book is now available in paperback from ThreeL Media.

“Early this year, Jiz sent me an email asking if I would be interested in participating. I agreed immediately, before I even knew what I was going to write about,” stated Calvert. “My essay took form through multiple drafts.”

“The biggest challenge was just being honest with myself, and being comfortable sharing that honesty with the world,” Calvert adds. “I’m thrilled with the end result. I think my piece is one of the best I have ever written, and it is an honor to be included among such great company.”

In her essay, “Shark’s Teeth,” Calvert tells of her Florida upbringing, her fascination with spanking and BDSM/fetish porn, and her first video shoot while she was still in college.

“I wrote in my journal that afternoon. I wrote down every little detail so afraid to forget,” Calvert wrote. “At the end of my entry, I apologized to my mom, I apologized for staying out late. I apologized for enjoying it way more than I thought I would.”

Eventually graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Florida, Casey Calvert worked as a popular fetish model before arriving in Los Angeles and embarking on an adult film career.

“Coming Out Like a Porn Star” features the personal stories of more than 50 porn professionals, who “came out” — or chose not to — to family, friends, and lovers. The interviewees represent a wide range of sexualities, ethnicities, and genders, with stories spanning topics such as coming out as trans and gay or lesbian, and stories where the authors push back against media.
