HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Hustler is readying “This Ain't the Golden Girls XXX” for a Sept. 8 DVD release.
Written and directed by Will Ryder, the movie has the uncanny look and feel of the original NBC comedy of the 1980s, “complete with old broads talking about love and dating, but this spoof does something no other porn parody has ever done, and that's use real, actual senior citizens … mostly.”
"At first, I thought Larry Flynt was kidding when he kept talking about granny porn, but the next thing I know, I'm auditioning women that qualify for the senior menu at Denny's," Ryder joked.
“This Ain't the Golden Girls XXX” stars Nina Hartley, Karen Summer, Luna Azul and Darla Crane in the remarkable roles of Rose, Sophia, Blanche and Dorothy, originally made famous by Betty White, Estelle Getty, Rue McClanahan and Bea Arthur.
The male characters are played by Ryan Mclane, Eric John, Dick Chibbles, Jay Crew and Mark Zane. There are non-sex roles for Jack Vegas and Will Ryder.
"Granny porn is a bigger niche than most people realize," said Rob Smith, director of operations for Hustler Video.
"The audience is definitely sizeable, so when you combine that with a parody of a beloved TV show that's written, produced and acted as well as this parody is, you have a winning movie on your hands.”
