Comic Book Fans Call on Axel Braun for 'Fantastic Four'

LOS ANGELES — This past weekend yielded one of the biggest Hollywood box office flops of all time with the release of “Fantastic Four,” and some comic book fans are calling for superhero porn specialist Axel Braun to "save" the franchise.

A new meme is circulating on social media pleading for Braun to finally give comic lovers the "Fantastic Four" movie they crave.

Braun is the director of more than a dozen top-selling comic porn parodies, including this summer's “Batman v Superman XXX: An Axel Braun Parody.” Now he is the focus of a meme campaign reading, “Save Us Axel Braun; You’re Our Only Hope.”

The meme includes a promotional poster of Fox’s “Fantastic Four,” which released August 7 and brought in only $26.2 million in the U.S. box office over the weekend. The film’s production budget was $120 million.

“Batman v Superman XXX: An Axel Braun Parody” is produced by Wicked Pictures. It is the three-time XBIZ Director of the Year's second release from the new Wicked Comix imprint. Braun’s film released June 10, nearly a full year before the 2016 release of Hollywood’s version.

The YouTube trailer for “Batman v Superman XXX" amassed almost 800,000 views in just over two months.

Fans are hoping the sinking “Fantastic Four” franchise can receive the Braun treatment.

“It’s flattering and quite frankly pretty funny that fans are turning to me after their disappointment with Hollywood’s continued failure to create a Fantastic Four movie that comic lovers can be proud of,” Braun said.

“I am honestly still undecided on what my next comic parody will be, but it will definitely show love and respect for the source material, as well as a deep understanding of the characters… something that the mainstream film industry seems somehow incapable of.”

Braun’s next film is “Peter Pan XXX: An Axel Braun Parody, releasing Sept. 23 from the Wicked Fairy Tales imprint.
