LOS ANGELES — Fusion.net has rolled out its documentary about the porn industry in Florida called "Miami Porn: Sex Work in the Sunshine State."
The doc takes viewers inside the Miami-based industry as porn stars and producers reveal how the Internet is changing their business.
Fusion followed five independent producers, ranging from a couple making homemade porn to multiple XBIZ Award-nominee Veronica Rodriguez, who is planning to launch her own pay site in August.
"The Internet is the new medium and these are the new pornographers," Fusion says in introducing the segment.
Rodriguez tells Fusion she lived in a garage before she got into porn four years ago and now she enjoys a six-figure income and runs her own production company.
The filmmakers captured a lot of their footage at this year's annual XBIZ Miami conference in June. Rodriguez attended the conference to meet with billing companies, traffic brokers and ad networks in preparation for her launch.
