SugarDVD Expands Mainstream Radio Spots

LOS ANGELES — Online adult DVD rental and retail service SugarDVD.com has expanded its mainstream marketing push to include the urban ethnic market. The company begins a new radio advertising campaign on Big Boy’s nationally syndicated Power 106 morning show next week.

The 60-second spots will discuss SugarDVD’s adult DVD rental service as well as offering listeners free minutes on its new pay-per-minute video-on-demand program.

“Our radio spots will be geared towards a more urban, hip audience to reach the market that listens to Big Boy,” Angie, assistant to SugarDVD.com CEO Jax Smith, told XBIZ. “This is just the first of several initiatives we’re undertaking to reach the hip-hop crowd.”

In addition to the commercials, SugarDVD will be giving away custom graffiti Nike Air Force One sneakers on the show, designed by one of Los Angeles’ best underground graffiti artists. Each pair is one of a kind and features the SugarDVD logo.

“We like rap music, and see tremendous opportunity in marketing to this blooming industry,” Smith said. “We feel Big Boy is a great way to do that in L.A.”

Big Boy’s Neighborhood is a nationally syndicated morning show for KPWR, airing Monday through Friday from 5-10 a.m. PST.
