This Week’s AEVC Debuts Upgraded Virtual World Platform

VANCOUVER — Utherverse’s fourth annual Adult Entertainment Virtual Convention is set to get underway this week, bringing the latest technology to porn fans and promoters alike.

The 2015 AEVC is set for Feb. 25-28, and opens at 9 a.m. PST on Wednesday, continuing non-stop until the end of Saturday night’s 2015 AEVC Awards After Party. The event runs on Red Light Center’s popular and recently upgraded virtual world platform, which boasts more than 12 million registered users.

The event, which last year reportedly attracted more than 18,000 visitors, features guest appearances by adult stars, as well as a keynote address by Fleshlight’s Brian Shubin, hosted by Wasteland’s Colin Rowntree.

Other scheduled sessions of interest to industry operators include a look at adult web hosting; the use of Twitter as a marketing tool; modern adult SEO techniques; acquiring clients and managing business relationships; the current state of the mobile market; and an Adult Industry Town Hall with Alec Helmy, Brad Mitchell, Joanne Cachapero, Colin Rowntree and Gregory Clayman; along with featured exhibition halls, networking events, parties and more.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about adult B2B marketing; how “Sex Online Still Counts;” the intricacies of equity crowdfunding; advanced affiliate tools; and the latest in the world of adult games, through a special session presented by MiKandi’s Jesse Adams and Jen McEwen.

Additional sessions will examine the issues of sex and censorship and the war on porn; plus consumer oriented fare, such as how to enjoy a more satisfying sex life; exploring the world of fantasy; and how to enhance intimate moments through role play.

Utherverse CEO Brian Shuster tells XBIZ that he is “super excited” that this year AEVC is MAC compatible due to its staging on the company’s brand new, state of the art platform.

The upgraded system was on display at the recent XBIZ 360 Digital Media Conference in Hollywood, where Shuster and staff demoed its compatibility with the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality headset, providing a truly immersive 3D experience.

“Avatars look much more realistic, so it will be as if you are in the same room with Lexi Belle herself,” Shuster says. “This will be our best event yet.”

Attendees are advised to register early and to download, install and familiarize themselves with the virtual world’s new software interface — taking time to update their user profile settings and avatar.

“The theme of this year’s show is going to be focused on the latest adult technology and Virtual Reality,” Shuster adds. “We anticipate doubling our attendance yet again, while still offering quality content that you would expect from any live trade show event.”
