Playboy.com Spotlights Sexual Health Expo 2015

LOS ANGELES – Playboy.com’s Nicole Theodore recaps last week’s Sexual Health Expo with her article “5 Things I Learned at L.A.’s Upscale Sexual Health Expo.”

Presented by luxury brand Jimmyjane, the first-ever Sexual Health Expo, welcomed upwards of 2,000 attendees over the course of two days filled with education and products for achieving a better sex life.

“The 2,000-person crowd was a mix of self-proclaimed cougars, gay couples, college students and curious singles in their twenties,” Theodore says. “The weekend’s meet-and-greet party set in modern event rooms with well-dressed men and women sipping cocktails on posh white couches helped deliver on the event’s promise to be luxurious.”

Impressed by the turnout and open-mindedness of SHE attendees, Theodore said she learned “to respect people’s toys.”

“At first the sheer amount of toys at SHE seemed excessive, but as I watched reps from We-Vibe proudly accept their ‘Best Sex Toy for Couples’ award, I realized I had underestimated the importance of sex toys for far too long.”

The article also spotlights SHE workshops led by Ducky Doolittle, Dr. Ava Cadell and Charlie Glickman. All in all, Theodore concludes that SHE provided a welcoming environment for openly discussing sexual wellness.

“Over the course of two eye-opening days I transformed from a semi-sheltered 23-year-old to a more sexually knowledgable young adult, just by simply putting myself out there with 2,000 other curious people,” Theodore says.

SHE 2015 organizers said that plans are already in motion for national expansion.
