Video: Vice.com Explores Virtual Reality in 'The Digital Love Industry' Feature

LOS ANGELES — Vice.com has posted an in-depth video feature about the intersection of sex and technology and the emerging virtual reality sector titled "The Digital Love Industry."

"With the appetite for technology showing no signs of slowing down, how are love and sex faring in the digital age?" Vice reporter Jo Fuertes-Knight asks.

In introducing the video, Vice.com writes, "Soon, virtual reality is going to crash into our lives in a way we never even imagined. Though dating and masturbating have long been commandeered by the web, it's only been as a kind of middleman.

"Now we're nearing the possibility of falling in love with your computer, as meeting your dream partner could be as easy as slipping on Oculus Rift – the most advanced virtual reality headset in the world."

Fuertes-Knight covers a lot of ground in the piece, literally, traveling all the way to Porn Valley to explore how the adult entertainment industry is on the cutting edge of virtual reality developments, as well as making a visit to Amsterdam.

The piece also includes coverage of Red Light Center's virtual reality world, Mikandi's "Tits & Glass" GoogleGlass app and its historic GoogleGlass porn video it produced in 2013 in collaboration with XBIZ.
