FreeOnes Supports Christy Mack by Helping to Stop Domestic Violence

LOS ANGELES — The outpouring of adult industry community support for domestic violence victim Christy Mack continues with FreeOnes.com announcing its initial $1,000 donation to a domestic violence service agency in Nevada.

Christy Mack was the winner of the 2013 Miss FreeOnes competition, and is recovering from the assault she suffered last week.

In addition to its initial $1,000 donation, FreeOnes says it will be contributing an extra $100 to this donation for every 2014 Miss FreeOnes sponsorship sold.

“According to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, over 24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner,” said Petra, Miss FreeOnes’ 2014 contest organizer. “This means that there are more than 12 million people affected by domestic violence over the course of one year, and there are reports that these numbers are increasing at alarming rates.”

Petra says that FreeOnes felt it needed to do something to help stop this cycle of domestic violence and so it decided to donate to a local domestic violence service agency.

“Aside from the fact that Christy lives in Nevada, it came to our attention while looking up potential recipients for our donation, that Nevada tops the scale for domestic violence situations,” Petra explains. “It’s our intention to find a shelter that not only helps the immediate needs of victims, but will also help with counseling and give prevention education.”

The company says that it will extend the Miss FreeOnes sponsorship deadline from Aug. 20 until Aug. 25, so that any company wishing to purchase a sponsorship can do so before the donation is made.

“It’s our sincere hope,” Petra concludes, “that by making our donation public, and adding $100 from every Miss FreeOnes Sponsorship that is purchased, that we can bring awareness to this issue and try to prevent what happened to Christy Mack from happening to any other person.”
