M7 Group, Penthouse Digital Media Ink Multi-platform Deal

LUXEMBOURG — European satellite TV provider M7 Group announced today that it has signed a long-term multi-platform distribution agreement with Penthouse Digital Media.

Terms of the agreement include the distribution of Penthouse 3D via the M7 platform at Eutelsat 9A at 9.0 degrees East; the signal will also be used for the distribution of Penthouse 3D to various other platform operators in Europe; the distribution of Penthouse SD via Canal Digitaal, TV Vlaanderen and Skylink, the M7-owned DTH platforms operating at ASTRA 23.5 degrees East; and the distribution of Penthouse HD via Online, the IPTV platform of M7 Group.

The company said the distribution agreement with Penthouse is facilitated by M7 Platform Services, the newly created entity within the M7 Group. M7 Platform Services provides broadcasters with turn-key direct-to-home and direct-to-cable distribution solutions.

"We are very pleased with this new agreement with Penthouse Digital Media, representing a further strengthening of our long-lasting and solid partnership. Via M7 Platform Services, we provide international broadcasting corporations like Penthouse with a complete distribution solution, from uplink to living room. Moreover, Penthouse is among the first customers to benefit from the extended interactive service offering via our new IPTV platform,” M7 CEO Marco Visser said.

Penthouse managing director Kelly Holland also welcomed the deal. “We are very excited about this new agreement with M7 Group. One key reason to select M7 Group is its unique ability to provide a high-quality, end-to-end satellite distribution solution, from uplink and encryption to EPG listings via its local TV platforms and local marketing. This allows us to contribute our TV signals to all key platform operators in Europe. We look forward to our continuing fruitful cooperation.”
