LOS ANGELES — Scarlet Red admits she had never watched porn before getting into the business in August not long after her 21st birthday.
“It’s more of a study for me now,” she joked. “I thought the experience would be worth it. And once I tried it, I liked it.”
The former certified nursing assistant decided to give porn a shot after a friend who had done a few scenes opened her mind to the idea. She said she had done some mainstream modeling in her native Colorado, so being in front of the camera wasn’t completely foreign to her.
“I even did a little thing for Guess, it was simple stuff,” Red said. “I also did some spokemodeling for local commercials and I’ve been in local magazines.”
Now 30-something scenes later, the self-proclaimed “mountain girl” is a rookie no more.
“I love it. I love what I do,” Red told XBIZ. “I show up on set with a positive attitude.”
And a growing number of producers have taken notice of the 5-foot-7 blonde, who is represented by Ideal Image Models.
Her early work included scenes for AmateurAllure.com (“Amateur Introductions 5”), Filly Films (“Kissing Cousins 2”) and North Pole Enterprises (“Cream Filled Cracks 2”), while more recently she has performed for Wicked Pictures (“Selfies”), Evil Angel (“Slurpy Throatsluts 2”) Adam & Eve, Girlfriends Films, Digital Desire and New Sensations.
“And I really liked Reality Kings with Greg Lansky. He was very technical but he made me improve my modeling. So he’s a cool guy in my book,” Red said.
Even though she has blonde hair and hazel eyes that look light green in some photos, she said she chose her stage name because “I turn bright red when I orgasm.”
“I love to cum on set,” Red said.
For now she still lives in Colorado and travels to L.A. about once a month to shoot.
“It’s more of a career right now. I really enjoy it and I’m starting to do it more,” Red said. “I take it professionally. I want to do well and I want to push my limits if I feel comfortable.”
Red continued, “I enjoy sex. I believe it’s a natural thing. I have an associate’s degree in art and I really appreciate art. I really like the romanticism of porn. I like soft, romantic kind of scenes.”
She also loves working with girls, even though she admitted at first she didn’t really know what she was doing.
“Now I have an idea,” Red said. “I got a girl off yesterday, so I know how guys feel.”
And she enjoys the opportunity to act when she has a chance.
“I like getting into different characters and different personas,” Red said, noting that she recently got to play roles for Adam & Eve and Girlfriends Films.
The former volleyball player said she likes hitting the beach to play when she’s in LA, "and I love to play soccer."
When it comes to fantasies, that’s easy—to have "sex in the middle of a circus ring.”
“I’m kind of a weird girl, but weird is the new cool,” Red said.
She hasn’t yet made any long-term plans when it comes to porn. “To be honest, I’m not quite sure,” Red said. “I do love what I do now and I can see a future in it. I’d like to kind of move mainstream with it. I’m a girl that lives in the moment. I enjoy life.”
