AEBN Sponsors Team in AIDS Walk L.A.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Video-on-demand company AEBN is sponsoring a team in this year's AIDS Walk Los Angeles Oct. 15. The AIDS Walk is a 10-kilometer walkathon that supports AIDS services across Los Angeles County.

"A lot of teams don't want adult sponsorship," Michael Herman, AEBN's director of business development, told XBIZ. "But Team Evangenitals is actively looking for adult sponsorship, which makes it really neat."

AEBN has donated $750 to AIDS Walk on behalf of Team Evangenitals, named for the rock band Evangenitals, which was formed in 2003 by employees of online sex toy store StockRoom.com.

"It's important for those of us in the adult industry to support fundraisers like these," Herman said. "AIDS is a disease that is devastating members of both the gay and straight communities and, as a leader in the adult industry, we need to do our part in combating it in whatever ways we can. Sponsoring a team made up of industry members in support of an AIDS charity is one good way to do it."

AEBN has supported AIDS-related charities in the past. Its next AIDS benefit is the Cycle for Life, a fundraising bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. AEBN will be sponsoring author and sex activist Midori in the event.
