LOS ANGELES — Adult star Jessica Drake has received the 2014 XRCO Awards nomination for Mainstream Adult Media Favorite.
“I'm honored to receive an XRCO Award nomination — it’s a joint effort, and I’m grateful for everyone who supports me and all the members of Team Wicked,” Drake said. “'The Guide To Wicked Sex' line has allowed me to reach out to the public in the most amazing way. From speaking with singles and couples about sexuality, to chatting with students at universities about consent, politics, pornography, relationships, and sex, being able to share my passion for sex education has been extremely rewarding.”
She added, “The additional outreach to the mainstream public through events, such as participating in, raising funds, and building awareness through AIDS Walk LA, has allowed me to push boundaries beyond the scope of the stereotypes surrounding our industry. I’m thrilled to have these opportunities to bridge the space between the adult industry and the public, and I thank the XRCO for recognizing the mainstream media’s acceptance of those efforts.”
Drake noted that the past year has brought her to the forefront of mainstream media with appearances at college campuses including the University of Chicago’s Sex Week, Chapman University as a guest lecturer, speaking to Film and Media Studies students at the University of California — Santa Barbara, and participating in a panel on porn at UCLA.
