The Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health Awarded Non-profit Status

PAWTUCKET, RI — The Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health (CSPH) announced today that it has been awarded official status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

As of Dec. 16, 2013, CSPH became tax-exempt and is eligible to apply for government and foundation grants. Additionally, any donations made to The CSPH are now tax-deductible.

The organization said that with its new status, its staff will be able to access more resources to strengthen its ability to educate and celebrate sexual pleasure and health.

Megan Andelloux, founder and director of CSPH, board-certified sexologist, and AASECT-certified sexuality educator said she is thrilled with the increased potential for by the new 501(c)(3) status.

“I am excited about the potential new relationships that can evolve with this recent development. Our commitment to reducing sexual shame is becoming more and more recognized by the local community, medical organizations and specific adult companies,” Andelloux said.

The CSPH was founded in Feb. 2010 as an educational organization that works to reduce sexual shame, fight misinformation and advance the field of sexuality. The organization said it provides sex-positive sexuality education and cultural dialogue through a wide variety of programming, including workshops, performances, and sex trivia nights for community members; practical skill-building events and classes for emerging and experienced professionals; and presentations for hospitals, medical organizations and at national conferences.

In addition, CSPH maintains one of the largest sexual resource and media libraries in the northeast, available for public perusal. The CSPH offers web resources, such as a video series and weekly features such as a news digest and articles highlighting upcoming conferences and relevant sexual studies to keep visitors educated, entertained and aware.

“The future is bright with opportunities for collaborations with companies that wish to advance the sexual health and education communities,” Andelloux added.
