LOS ANGELES — Wicked Pictures on Friday announced the launch of a new imprint dedicated exclusively to fairy tale parodies.
Wicked Fairy Tales will release three titles a year, all helmed by contract director Axel Braun, who just completed principal photography on the new line’s ambitious first project, "Snow White XXX: An Axel Braun Parody."
“There’s no denying that fairy tales are enjoying great success both on TV and on the silver screen," said Wicked’s owner Steve Orenstein. “I think the genre is a natural evolution for the adult parody market, and it's a niche that happens to fit very well within the Wicked brand.”
Featuring an all-star cast headlined by Wicked’s own Jessica Drake as the Evil Queen and Axel Braun Production’s contract girl Riley Steele in the titular role, "Snow White XXX" is a dramatic take on the Brothers Grimm’s dark tale of betrayal, desire, and malevolence.
“I followed the original story, with a few added twists” said Braun, who two weeks ago won his third XBIZ Director of the Year award. “The iconography and costuming are an updated version of those everybody is familiar with, and while the lighting and higly saturated color palette definitely give the movie a very intense look, it’s Jessica’s scenery-chewing performance as the Evil Queen that really sets the tone for it."
Drake said, “I am so happy that I was chosen as the lead in Axel's first Wicked project. Over the years I've admired his work from afar, but experiencing it first hand was awesome! The movie is absolutely phenomenal. Excellent wardrobe, incredible makeup, and fantastic sets are helping me bring EVIL to a whole new level. I can't wait to share it with everyone!”
Steele, who'll be seen for the first time as a brunette, echoed Drake’s excitement, while admitting to the nervousness that came with taking over such an iconic character. “When Axel told me I was going to play Snow White I was literally blown away!" Steele said. "Also I had never been in a Wicked movie, and the fact that it was Axel’s first project for them made me really nervous...but all the pressure instantly dissipated when we did the table read with the whole cast. Everybody was very welcoming and focused, and they all shared my enthusiasm, so it wasn't only a positive experience, but a very helpful one, too.”
"Snow White XXX" also marks the first time the award-winning stars Drake and Steele ever shared the screen.
“Working with Jessica was amazing,” Steele said. “She is not only one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen, but she’s also incredibly professional and generous, and carries herself with extreme elegance on and off camera. "Snow White XXX: An Axel Braun Parody" will hit stores on DVD in the spring.
