The response was immediate; a new genre in adult entertainment was born. A short time later you wanted more and Cherry Boxxx Xplicit was born. Once again because of you, each was a smash around the world.”
Cherry Boxx parent company K Beech also celebrates its 25-year anniversary in 2006. The company is made up of 12 different manufacturers, including Erotic Angel, Dreamland Video, Midnight Film & Video, Erotic Men, Midnight Men, Midnight Mayhem, Cherry Boxxx Pictures, Baby Doll Pictures, Backend Productions, KB Releasing, and two new hardcore lines, Cherry XXX and 818XXX.
In conjunction with its anniversary, Cherry Boxxx is releasing the first edition of Playhouse’s “Killergram” series Sept. 22. Cherry Boxxx owns exclusive U.S. distribution rights to the European series.
Gold said the “Killergram” movies, which feature all-European casts, enable the company to offer retailers fresh content in a wide array of genres that he terms “high-style reality porn.”
“The series complements our own productions by bringing in new faces, new talent, a different director,” Gold told XBIZ. “People [U.S. producers] are caught in a whirlpool of sameness. People want something different. These are girls that haven’t been seen in the U.S. before. Even the male talent is new. Plus, the packaging is great, and it’s got a catchy name.”
Gold said that after the first title in the series ships, Cherry Boxxx will release at least one new title every week, with each volume following a different theme.
