Tranny Awards Nominations Announced

BURBANK, Calif. — Grooby Productions has released the nomination list for the upcoming Sixth Annual Tranny Awards, to be held at the Beyond the Stars Palace in Glendale, California on Feb. 16, 2014.

The event’s organizers offered one disclaimer: “We are still verifying some of the scenes/DVDs and their producers for inclusion, so there may be a change or two in those categories only. All other nominations are set as below.”

This year’s categories include: Best Solo Model; Best New Face 2013; Best Hardcore Performer; Best Voluptuous Model; Best Asian/South American Performer; Best Non-TS Performer; Best FTM Performer; Best DVD Release; Best DVD Director; Best Solo Website; Best Website Scene; Best Scene Director; Best Photographer and Best TG Internet personality.

Event operators at Grooby.com said nominees must have appeared on a major website or DVD between Dec. 1, 2012 and Nov. 15, 2013. Grooby noted that Best New Face must have debuted after Dec. 1, 2012, and that Best Photographer is for best still photography and not video.

Tranny Factory, a transsexual studio under the Monarchy Distribution umbrella, scored its first Tranny Award nomination for Best DVD for its title “Tranny Hookups #4.”

"We are extremely honored to be acknowledged by the Tranny Awards" Monarchy Owner Mike Kulich said. "We have never been recognized by their award show, so this a new milestone for us."

Sponsorships for the award show are still available.

"Give something back to the models/producers who make us what we are. This is the only event of its kind and we get a lot of coverage," Steven Grooby said on XBIZ.net. "This year, we'll be increasing that by having the actual award night and the After Party the following night — and your sponsorship will be at both. This is the only award show which gives cash prizes in many of the model categories.”
