Good Vibrations Opens Store in Palo Alto

SAN FRANCISCO — Good Vibrations, the Bay Area-based company that takes pride in providing accurate sexual health information and quality sex toys, opened its seventh location in the chic shopping district of Palo Alto on Oct. 25.

In the heart of a bustling tech community that is home to Apple, Facebook and Tesla, Good Vibrations added its own flavor of technology to the mix. What once may have seemed an incongruous setting is now an ideal place for a company that has supported technological innovation in intimate products and whose sex-positive philosophy has helped shape contemporary consumer habits, Good Vibes said.

Founded in 1977 by a couples' therapist who wanted to help pre-orgasmic women, Good Vibrations has long insisted that pleasure is everyone's birthright and that adults should have access to quality products and sex education. The new Palo Alto location is a far cry from the small, utilitarian vibrator store of the 70s, but the philosophy and commitment to "pleasure to the people" is the same.

Situated right off of University Avenue alongside many boutiques and restaurants with ample access to parking and public transit, Good Vibrations is setting out to showcase its design-centric, forward-thinking vendors in a stylized boutique setting.

Executive Vice President Jackie Strano remarked, "Our stores have often been called 'the Apple store or Genius Bar for sex toys' and we are proud to offer an elevated experience of quality and design around intimate products. For us it's about providing the best possible service, most accurate information, and a warm welcoming environment. Our vendor partners hail from Silicon Valley and the tech and design community, and together we are creating a new user experience of sexual health mixed with new technology, providing you with the right tool for the job."

The public is invited to celebrate the grand opening at a special reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 that will feature free sexy prizes, promotions, and tasty bites and sips.

The Good Vibrations Palo Alto store is located at 534 Ramona Street, Palo Alto, 94301.
