Dallas Teacher Causes Stir Over Playboy 'Cybergirl' Nudes

DALLAS — A Dallas high school Spanish teacher is causing a local dust up over her nude "Cybergirl" photos that appeared on Playboy.com.

Cristy Nicole Deweese, who went by the name of Cristy Nicole when 18, was a Coed of the Month in Februaty 2011. She was featured in a layout, simulated lesbian scene and behind the scenes video.

Deweese, now 21, posed for Playboy before she was hired as a magnet school teacher at the Rosie M. Collins Sorrells School of Education and Social Services at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center.

In her Playboy interview, Deweese said, "My butt looks great in jeans, panties, or nothing. My legs are long. But my favorite thing about my body is my breasts. They're small, but real, nicely shaped, and I don't have to worry about back pain, bras, men staring or anything. I love them just the way they are."

School district spokesman Jon Dahlander said it's a personnel matter, and will not be discussed in public.

According to reports, it’s unclear whether the now 21 year-old’s nudes violate ethical standards for the school district or the Texas Education Agency. The controversy is being called a “murky situation,” by spokesperson Debbie Ratcliffe.

“It wasn’t an illegal activity, but it raises the question about whether that action violated the Educators’ Code of Ethics,”  Ratcliffe said. The ethics standard states, “The educator shall be of good moral character and be worthy to instruct or supervise the youth of this state.”

One irate parent reportedly wanted Deweese ousted from her post last Friday because students are using their cell phones to view the photos and are becoming distracted.

“Are her male 16 and 17-year-old students looking at her without picturing her nude?,” the parent asked the Dallas Morning News. “And for the female students, is this someone they can respect as an educator, someone that they can look up to?”

But some students are tweeting in Deweese’s defense. “Half of the school already found out about that one Spanish teacher. She’s a teacher now, not a Playboy model anymore! Leave her alone guys.”
