CHARLESTON, S.C. — A University of South Carolina student group, the Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, Straight Alliance (BGLSA) held a “Porn and Pizza” campus event last week intended to increase sexual health awareness.
“If anyone is frightened by that title, the back door is still open. Let the puns begin," BGLSA President Mason Branham reportedly said at the get-together.
The event included both same-sex and heterosexual themed porno, and, true to the title, pizza was the predominant refreshment. Following the screening, students joined in a guided discussion about the material viewed.
In order to bypass potential confrontation from university officials, Branham said that the group viewed the porn on an Internet hot spot in lieu of the campus system.
“We wanted an extra safety measure for BGLSA,” Branham said.
"Thank you, truly, to everyone tonight for being extremely mature. Our Porn and Pizza Meeting was an utter success! Hopefully everyone had fun and learned a little something, too," the group posted on Facebook following the event.
