LOS ANGELES — CNBC.com has posted its annual list of the 12 most popular porn stars. The Dirty Dozen 2013 includes a mix of up-and-comers and industry veterans who finally experienced major breakthroughs.
CNBC notes that while starlets such as Jesse Jane are still in demand, a new crop of young performers is emerging, ready to take their place in the limelight. Only four stars from last year's rankings make the new list: Asa Akira, Allie Haze, Chanel Preston and Joanna Angel.
New faces include 2013 XBIZ Award winners Lily Carter (Best Actress — Feature Movie), Lily LaBeau (Best Actress — Feature Movie) and Brooklyn Lee (Female Performer of the Year). Fan favorite Lexi Belle and comeback kid Remy La Croix are also spotlighted.
CNBC recognized Bobbi Starr for her transition into directing and James Deen for his crossover potential, stemming from a lead role opposite Lindsay Lohan in "The Canyons," and his crowning as the Porn Boy Next Door by ABC News.
Deen was named Male Performer of the Year and Crossover Star of the Year at the 2013 XBIZ Awards. The show's list of nominees served as part of CNBC's research in selecting candidates for its 2013 Dirty Dozen list.
