XBIZ Video Sees Rapid Subscriber Growth, Increases Distribution

LOS ANGELES — Launched in January, XBIZ Video magazine's distribution has grown substantially in the past two months, evidenced by an increasing number of new subscription requests.

“The inaugral issue of XBIZ Video was distributed to just about every company in the adult video business,” XBIZ publisher Alec Helmy said. “We’re now seeing retailers, distributors and studios signing up for multiple copies for different people in their organizations.”

XBIZ Video is distributed at no charge to adult industry professionals. Retail stores make up the majority of the subscriber base, but producers, directors, distributors and toy/novelty manufacturers also may sign up for subscriptions at XBIZVideo.com.

“The response, in terms of sheer numbers, is very exciting, but what’s most gratifying is what we’re hearing from retailers,” XBIZ Video Editor Matt O’Conner said. “We get calls almost every day from retailers who actually thank us for what we’re doing. They seem to really appreciate the editorial focus, the mix of hard business news and features.”

Published monthly in a tabloid-size format, XBIZ Video covers company news, technological developments, deals and legal issues effecting the industry.

Each issue also includes regular sections such as the Top 25 Buyers’ Choice, a listing of the month’s bestselling and most rented DVDs; a Buyers Guide of new releases, along with ordering information; Gear & Gadgets, a look at the equipment and electronics directors use on and off the set; talent signings; and Backstage, which features photos from industry parties, awards shows and trade events.
