Westgate, who helms Femme Fusion, decided to give her fans a VOD experience for her growing library of titles and exclusive website content in response to what she sees an industrywide trend.
“VOD is just huge on the Internet right now,” Westgate told XBIZ. “We wanted to be part of it. Being able to offer VOD to our fans seemed obvious to us.”
To setup the VOD service, Westgate turned to a familiar business ally, Christopher Levy of Buy DRM, explaining that she had used the company to protect content on her original site with their digital rights management services.
"I have worked with Sandee on many projects for her sites and she is very particular in making things perfect,” Levy said. “I think we have succeeded with this avenue of her company."
According to Westgate, users have had a strong response to the VOD service on her site.
“It’s been really great,” Westgate said. “I think the fans are really happy with this.”
VOD offerings on the site include exclusive Internet content as well as Femme Fusion’s three titles to date: “Sandee’s Girls,” “Carnal Desires” and “Girlfriends.”
Each film can be downloaded in its entirety or by individual scene.
Westgate plans to make “Thrust,” the company’s fourth title, available via VOD once it’s completed.
