'Lovelace' Star Amanda Seyfried Talks 'Deep Throat'

LOS ANGELES — "Lovelace," a biopic on "Deep Throat" star Linda Lovelace, starring Amanda Seyfried, will have its world premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.

The Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman-directed film is a big-screen adaptation of Eric Danville’s biography “The Complete Linda Lovelace."

Seyfried plays Lovelace in the film, which documents the "Deep Throat" starlet's transformation from adult superstar to anti-porn activist.

In an interview with The Sun, Seyfried said she watched the 1972 film prior to shooting and described it as "funny."

“It’s just so fabricated and just weird and unnatural," Seyfried said. "They’re so funny. It’s the funniest movie.”

Seyfried is, however, compassionate towards Lovelace and feels grateful to have given the tragic star a voice.

"She was treated terribly because she was a porn star and she was associated with that one movie her whole life," Seyfried told The Sun.

"It’s really nice to be able to validate her in some way. She never got the validation she deserved before she died. I’m glad I did this movie.”
