'Spartacus MMXII' Unites Reviewers, Critics

LOS ANGELES Art Koch recently published a five-star review of "Spartacus MMXII: The Beginning."

As the national features and DVD editor of NightMoves magazine, Koch’s review follows the Sept. 28 release of this two-disc DVD from London Gunn Films, Miko Lee Productions and distributor Wicked Pictures.

Koch said that “this spectacular production will elevate porn to a new level of excellence.”

Industry trade magazine Adult Video News is championing the project as well, giving it an Editor’s Choice “AAAAA” review and proclaiming the fillm "has all the elements needed for a perfect storm of sorts: beautiful bodies, wonderfully choreographed fight scenes, amazing sets and costumes, stellar acting, a worthy plot and steamy sex scenes.”

XCritic’s Don Houston gives his own detailed XCritic Pick appraisal, saying that “the sex blended in better than it did in the mainstream cable series!”

XBIZ has given the production an Editor’s Choice as well, calling it “a passionate period piece laced with eroticism and blazing with intensity. 'Spartacus MMXII: The Beginning' challenges the limits of adult filmmaking in glorious fashion.”

Pre-release screenings have earned the project other accolades, with NightMoves also giving the film its First Choice award for overall excellence.

The movie has also received attention from Jamaica’s Erotikos Film Festival and, most recently, been crowned “the most epic adult movie ever” by the mainstream pop culture website Die-Screaming.com.

Club magazine’s Emma Edwards praises Marcus London, Tommy Gunn, Miko Lee, Devon Lee, Tanya Tate and the rest of the ensemble, saying that “with an ambitious script, classic costuming, heroic battles and state-of-the-art special effects, 'Spartacus MMXII: The Beginning' is a sexual saga for the ages.”
