UC Santa Barbara Hosts Screening of Wicked's 'Horizon'

LOS ANGELES – Wicked Pictures announced that the University of California at Santa Barbara hosted a successful screening of Sam Hain’s "Horizon" Wednesday night.

Held at the prestigious Carsey-Wolf Center’s Pollock Theater, the well-attended screening featured appearances by Jessica Drake, Kaylani Lei, Alektra Blue, Hain and producer Lee Roy Myers.

An official UCSB Department of Film and Media Studies event, the screening was followed by a Q&A session and reception which gave the students and faculty multiple opportunities to speak to Hain, Myers, and the stars of "Horizon."

For his part, Hain relished the experience of bringing his epic science fiction adventure to UCSB. “The film was received very enthusiastically, and after the screening, student after student told me they had never seen an adult film of this quality,” he said.

Professor Constance Penley, Co-Director of the Carsey-Wolf Center, echoed the director’s observations. "The students were thrilled to see such a high-quality film in the state-of-the-art Pollock Theater," she said. "They were also thrilled to get a chance to talk to the director, producer, and talent about their experiences in making Horizon, first in the Q & A and then at the reception in the Michael Douglas Lobby."

A noted film professor and porn-studies pioneer, Professor Penley’s forward-thinking, sex-positive work has been profiled in such publications as TIME and Rolling Stone.

Penley added, "I am grateful to Sam, Lee Roy, Jessica, Alektra, and Kaylani for their generosity toward our students. All the exceptionally talented people behind 'Horizon' were forthcoming, thoughtful, and inspiring. Nothing like porn stars to make you think!"

Horizon is available in a Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack exclusively from Wicked Pictures.
