Oktoberfest Gathering Concludes, Draws Record Attendance

MUNICH — The annual Oktoberfest Gathering recently concluded its best attended event ever, bringing together a worldwide audience of digital media B2B professionals.

Held from September 25-27 at the Hofbrauhaus Festzelt in Munich, Oktoberfest Gathering served as the official after-event for London’s XBIZ EU event. The show’s organizers provided guests — many of whom dressed in traditional lederhosen — with an airport pick up; along with personal beer maidens, Bavarian food and ever-flowing beer.

Oktoberfest Gathering co-founder Benjamin Bayr notes that this eighth annual event had the largest attendance ever, illustrating the perennial appeal of this bonding party.

“This year we welcomed lots of new faces, and I’m very pleased that living legends such as ‘The Hun’ were amongst the participants of this year’s gathering,” Bayr stated. “We are excited about having hosted another successful event and I like to thank you all for the continued support throughout the years.”

Sponsors included 2000 Charge, EPG Bill, Epoch, EuroRevenue, Herzi Dirndl, Gamma Entertainment, SexSearch, Webbilling and XBIZ.

“The Oktoberfest Gathering was a great chance to combine business talk and fun within one evening,” Partnercash CEO Christoph Pass told XBIZ. “The best thing is that you get to know the people more personally and go on with business possibilities after the event.”

“It was great to be part of this well organized show in Europe,” Sascha of Payment Network AG told XBIZ. “I met a lot of new faces and was part of an interesting payment panel with critical questions from the audience at XBIZ EU.”

“The great Bavarian Oktoberfest is always THE opportunity to meet everyone more privately,” Sascha added, calling the event “a well-assorted mix of business and fun!”

According to XBIZ president Alec Helmy, the gathering provided a unique venue for executive bonding and networking.

“What makes Oktoberfest Gathering so special is the incredibly festive environment in which attendees meet and network with one another,” Helmy stated. “Thanks to Benny and co-founder Ed Kunkel, I walked away highly impressed not only by the event organizer’s exceptional hospitality but also by the rare bonding opportunities it afforded me. This is a must-attend event and I look forward to next year’s show.”
