Download Manager Version 6 From ObjectCube

TORONTO — Video solutions developer ObjectCube, which in 2005 jettisoned its mainstream clients to focus entirely on the adult market, has launched Version 6 of the company’s Download Manager, a file transfer protocol that promises download rates “up to 1,000 times faster” than traditional browser technology.

The DM was designed specifically for large files like online video downloads.

Aside from faster download speeds, the software also enables progressive downloads so users can watch a movie while it downloads, the ability to stop and restart downloads, unattended downloading and scheduling options, error recovery from disconnects and the ability to organize and categorize movies and share them with others using the software.

“We are very pleased with the new version and all it offers our clients,” Jay Janarthanan, CTO for ObjectCube, said. “We have accomplished the fastest download speeds to date and the ability to offer non-linear services such as restart and pause options makes our new version even better.”

Janarthanan said the software has been used by millions of users since it was first developed.

Several major adult players, including XonAir, TopBucks, GameLink, NakedSword, Adam & Eve, Gunzblazing and AEBN use the software.

Janarthanan said ObjectCube began with a single employee — himself — writing thousands of lines of DRM code for AEBN in 2002. As AEBN grew, so did Janarthanan’s company, now employing a 25-person team of developers working in Russia and at ObjectCube's Toronto office.
