txtNation Allows Nigerians to Vote

NIGERIA – Nigeria's popular TV dating program, Big Brother, which is broadcast daily on the MNET platform, will, later this month, allow members of the public to vote for contestants, access content and participate with studio guests and other viewers.

Working with MNET, txtNation plans to roll the technology out across the entire portfolio of its television channels in Africa.

"txtNation is particularly focused on user-generated conversational and personal broadcasting tools," Michael Whelan, director of txtNation, said. "The increasing technical sophistication of mobile phones is playing a major role in the growth of photo messaging, multimedia SMS and video blogging, all of which the company is capturing in new program formats and applications."
