High Def XXX Hits the Hi-Def Slopes With New Title

LOS ANGELES — Production company High Def XXX, in conjunction with its sister distribution company High Def Home Entertainment have begun shipping its first adult feature film, “Girls Gone Skiing.”

The film features four aspiring actresses who are talked into a weekend on the slopes and seduce their way into a famous producer’s next movie. However, their agent wants to steal the next big script from the producer, his former partner, and the girls spend the film trying to catch him, have sex and still receive roles in the film.

The title — shot on location in Big Bear and directed and edited by Christopher Vega — stars Sharon Wild, Vanessa Lane, Felix Vicious, Katrena Star, Lexi Lamour, Jack Lawrence, Rusty Nails and Nik La Shey.

The title was filmed in high definition using the Panasonic Varicam, and marks Vega’s directorial debut after years of film editing for Hustler. The film also marks the 7th high-def DVD release for High Def Home Entertainment.

The still relatively new company is carrying standard versions of the title as well, which is playable on a computer, a high-def DVD player or an XBox 360.

HDHE’s Tom Funk told XBiz that HDHE also expects to soon release downloadable high-def clips from several online media companies, including HotMovies.com, which is scheduled to go live with its high-def clips by next week. Funk added that AdultDVDEmpire, as well as other companies, have intentions to follow, though the process may be slow.

“Girls Gone Skiing” also will be released in the HD DVD and Blu-ray formats when they become available later this year. Funk told XBiz he is planning to release several titles in the HD DVD format around the end of March, to coincide with the release of Sony’s HD DVD players.

“If all goes well, we’ll put out our next feature, ‘Personal Assistant’ and about five other titles on HD DVD by the end of March, when the players are set to come out” Funk said. “We have all the things we need in place to do it, so we’re just trying to get all the titles on the shelves by the time the players come out so that we have a little library.”

Funk added that distributing the titles in HD DVD formatting will prove to be easier than using Blu-ray formatting, as the players aren’t scheduled to be ready for a while, despite that PlayStation 3 hits shelves next month. However, Funk said that the company will still distribute some titles in Blu-ray formatting, when it becomes necessary.

“Whichever one wins out, I don’t really care,” Funk told XBiz.

Other high-def titles recently distributed by HDHE include “Deep Throat,” “Dreamcummers,” “High Def Lesbians 1,” “Easy Like Sunday Morning,” “High Def XXX: Vol.,” “High Def Erotica: Virtual Girlfriends” featuring former Penthouse Pet of the Year Victoria Zdrok, current Pet of the Year Jamie Lynn and current Hustler contract star Monique Alexander.
