LOS ANGELES — Pleasure Dynasty, an adult management company that is also facilitating movie productions, has signed an exclusive distribution deal with Howard Levine’s Exile Distribution.
Pleasure Dynasty intends to focus on high-end content, targeting iconic Hollywood films for porn remakes. Its first such project is “Taxi Driver: The XXX Parody,” which is coming in late June.
Levine said Pleasure Dynasty is “a very diverse group of investors” that loves adult content.
“They want to see really great product,” Levine said. “They’re primarily using Love You Films as a production company.”
Love You Films, a Lizzy Borden company, has produced “Taxi Driver” in association with Diamond Productions.
“All Pleasure Dynasty is interested in is creating high-end, killer material,” Levine told XBIZ. “The parodies that they’re doing are focused on Hollywood films that may be a little darker, a little edgier than other stuff that’s out there, movies that could’ve been pornos to begin with.”
Levine continued, “They want to take these movies that are highly recognizable, classics or even modern-day classics, recreate them and add sex. They are not interested in comedies. It’s gotten to a point where people are parodying anything, which is fine I’m sure they do very, very well and there’s a market for them. We feel there is also a market for films like ‘Fight Club,’ ‘Training Day’ and ‘Taxi Driver’ that were just cool movies to begin with. And we’ve added timely sex, that, instead of being gratuitous it fits and flows.”
“Taxi Driver,” starring Tommy Pistol as Travis Bickle, is a two-disc set that will be released in a digi-pack to only brick-and-mortar and online retailers.
“There will be no simultaneous VOD. The only place they will be able to get this film is in the store,” Levine said. “The logic is we’re trying to support the DVD business. At some stage in the game we’ll put it on VOD, but we don’t want to dilute the sales of the DVD. Other people keep talking about the demise of DVD when actually if you come out with a really good title and you don’t piss on the retailers and don’t put it up everywhere, the sales are quite great. We’re all about the brick-and-mortar and online stores and that’s what we want to do.”
In addition to Pistol’s turn as Bickle, “Taxi Driver” also stars Lily LaBeau, Misty Stone, Nikki Charm, Jenna Andrews, Evan Stone, Sean Michaels and more.
“It turned out amazing. I think people will enjoy it,” Levine said. “Nikki Charm, as far as we know, this is her first interracial scene, with Sean Michaels, and it’s explosive. Nikki is not very big. I think she’s about a foot and a half taller than Sean’s cock. Lily LaBeau was killer. Misty Stone was killer. And Jenna Andrews who played Iris just hit it on the mark.
“And I can’t even say enough about Tommy Pistol. Tommy Pistol became Travis Bickle, we really demanded that people act and overall the combination is a winning one.”
