New L.A. Erotic Boutique Getting Heat Over Name

LOS ANGELES — FUK U Lingerie-Love Shop is set to open next week on Melrose Avenue — Hollywood’s hub for trendy shoppers — however, some locals are hot and bothered over the store’s name.

According to reports, some neighbors feel that FUK U is an inappropriate name, particularly for a store located near an elementary and high school, and are asking for its signage to be removed.

"Just because it's not spelled the same it still means the same thing," a Melrose shopper told KTLA News in a report.

Store owners are staying mum on the controversy until FUK U’s official opening, the report said.

Melrose Avenue is currently the home to a handful of high-end erotic boutiques, including Coco De Mer, Kiki De Montparnasse and Agent Provacateur.
