DP's Samantha Lewis on National Public Radio

LOS ANGELES — Digital Playground CEO Samantha Lewis was on Southern California Public Radio yesterday discussing how the HIV scare has affected the company’s contract stars and fielding questions about whether condoms should be mandated.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation assistant General Counsel Brian Chase also was on the program addressing the condom question, saying he believes condoms should be required for all porn performers.

Lewis said Digital Playground has postponed production and is waiting for AIM to gather more information about the case. She said she has talked to all of her performers and has cleared most of her talent.

Lewis also pointed out that there has never been a documented case of HIV in the industry, adding that some of her major stars prefer go to condom-free because they are uncomfortable.

“We’re the safest industry,” she said.

The radio host also took calls from various other performers in adult. One former adult actor said condoms should be required.

And a female consumer said she doesn’t like watching performers with condoms.
