SugarCash Upgrades Video-On-Demand API

LOS ANGELES — SugarCash's affiliate video-on-demand API is now offering a download- to-own service, in addition to pay-per-minute and flat priced streams.

The company says the recent update allows affiliate sites to offer download-to-own to their customers. The API also enables affiliates to do their own billing for all their video on demand sales. As a result, according to the company, affiliate customers don't have to sign up for a seperate account, they can use their existing account on the affiliate site to purchase and view video-on-demand movies.

The API also allows sites that want to offer video-on-demand the ability to do so without sending their traffic out to a white label store.

"Our API affiliate partners have found that doing their own billing results in less customer confusion and more sales," SugarCash CEO Jax said. "We are proud to offer a download-to-own service through our API and believe it will help our affiliates increase their overall video on demand revenues."

In the coming weeks SugarVOD also has plans to provide movie screen shots through the API.

The company says this update will allow other sites to offer thousands of movie screen shots to their site visitors.
