Vivid to Release Mindy McCready Sex Tape Despite Lawyer's Request

LOS ANGELES — Vivid Entertainment said it will release its "Mindy McCready Baseball Mistress" sex tape despite a request from the celebrity's lawyer requesting answers to six categories of documentation and other information.

The letter from attorney Adam Dread dated April 7 can be seen at Vivid.

As reported by XBIZ on Tuesday, Dread sent Vivid Founder/Co-chairman Steven Hirsch a "cease and desist" letter and demanded to see documentation that the studio had authorization to distribute the video.

In the video, country music and reality show personality McCready shows off her sexual talents and talks candidly about the bedroom performances of Yankees and Red Sox pitching great Roger Clemens and other celebrities she's been involved with over the years.

Hirsch announced earlier this week that "We've decided to take a little extra time to study all of our documentation and other clearances before we proceed."

After receiving the latest letter, Hirsch said, "Adam Dread is being presumptuous to think we will share all of the information he's requested in his letter to me."

He added, "We have no fear of the court system as we've operated within the law and we'll provide him with the documentation that is necessary, when we're ready, and not a minute before."

At press time a company spokesperson could not confirm Vivid's originally scheduled release date of April 19.
