Dirty D Pleads Not Guilty

TAMPA, Fla. — One of the attorneys for Dirty D has filed a not guilty plea and made a request for discovery proceedings.

This morning, attorney Bjorn Brunvand also requested that the judge reduce his $200,000 bond to $40,000 so that Dirty D can use the difference to pay his legal expenses.

But Hillsborough County Judge Chet Tharpe sided with prosecutors and denied the request.

Mark Cox, a spokesman for the state attorney office, told XBIZ that prosecutors argued against reducing the bond because they believe Dirty D has the financial means to support his case.

Prosecutors said that, as part of Dirty D’s investigation, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement officials found $60,000 in cash in his home, which they believe is appraised around $300,000.

Prosecutors also said his company is worth $1million.

“I believe my client has complied with all federal guidelines,” Brunvand told XBIZ. “He maintains his innocence.”

Florida authorities arrested and charged Dirty D Mar. 17 with two counts of the promotion of a sexual performance of a child and two counts of the use of a child in a sexual performance.

Dirty D several weeks ago told XBIZ in an interview that the claims made by a woman who says she was underage at the time of a Tampa Bay porn shoot in August 2007 are "completely false and inflammatory."

An arraignment is scheduled for Apr. 5 when a new hearing date will be set following discovery proceedings.
